Kandy is a major city in located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the Sinhalese monarchy from 1469 to 1818, under the Kingdom of Kandy.[ The city is situated in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and the capital of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. Historically the local Buddhist rulers resisted Portuguese, Dutch, and British colonial expansion and occupation.

Comfortable air-conditioned transport will pick you up from your hotel on the coast and take you to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can watch the elephants, see how the little ones are fed and the big ones are bathed. After the nursery, tourists will be invited to visit the Royal Botanical Garden, located in the suburbs of the city of Kandy – in Peradeniya, the rich collection of the nursery is divided into 25 sections on a botanical basis, the collection contains about 5,000 plants from around the world, there is an alley of memorial trees and royal palms and “drunk firs”, gallery of butterflies and orchids.
After completing the inspection of the Botanical Garden, we will go to the ancient mountain capital, the capital of the island of Sri Lanka – the city of Kandy. On the way, we will visit a batik factory and see how fabrics are painted by hand using ancient technology. as well as a tea factory, where we can see how real Ceylon tea is made. and also you can visit gem and minerals museum as well
In Kandy, we will have a fascinating tour of the main Buddhist attraction of the city – the Temple of the Tooth Relic, then we will inspect Hindu temples, the royal palace, baths, a man-made lake, etc. On the way back, visit the spice garden with a short visual tour and demonstrations of plants of popular spices and Ayurvedic herbs. After that, the minivan will take you back to the hotel on the coast, where the program started from;
